What an honor it is for me to be my Mothers daughter. She is wise, she is caring and most importantly she has always taught me not to judge. She has changed my life for good. Without her, I probably wouldn't be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young Mom she called the missionaries and asked them to give her the discussions. She didn't have much support from others...but she was and always has been a strong woman. I appreciate all you do for me Mom. Thanks for listening to me talk until my phone battery dies(does that mean I should get a new phone or stop talking? ....I'll opt for the first:)) Happy Mothers Day.
Philip bore his testimony yesterday and as part of it he paid tribute to his Mother, Iris. She is always positive, she is always trying to help and always thinking of her children first. Philip noted that even though he knows he has many faults, he believes that she only sees the good in him and that has helped him in his life. What a great knowledge to know that your Mom is in your corner! I wish to pay a heartfelt tribute to Iris for raising such a wonderful man that I can have in my life. He wrote me the most beautiful note as part of my gift. I will treasure it forever. I know his shaping and molding was, in large part, due to his Mother's love for him!
I have had MANY other "mom's" in my life...friends & family alike who have taken care of me physically, emotionally and spiritually. It takes a village to raise a child and to those other "mom's" I say THANK YOU! I know I can't repay any of this...I only hope I can be such a Mom to my own children and to others children so I can "pass it on."
We have a great tradition in our family, one of my favorites. See here and here for previous years.
Every Mothers Day we go on a picnic to our local park. Philip and the kids plan the menu and surprise me. My only request is creme soda. That stuff is smooth going down!:)
This year was just as great...Philip had it all planned out...rotisserie chicken, potato and macaroni salad, cheese, watermelon, french bread and strawberry shortcake for dessert. What a man!

I didn't get as many pictures as I had hoped...I was having too much fun:) But I got a few and they will hopefully be enough to spark my memory to remember the fun we had and the great family I have.
All day long my kids were hugging me and telling me I was the best Mom in the whole universe. At dinner someone said, "Mom, you're the best Mom in the world...and the other corrected..."NO, in the universe!"

As I woke, the gifts flooded in. A cookbook, handmade card and bracelet from Libbie, chocolate, A YOU and ME book and a handmade card from Gavin, a drink coaster that says "You Rock Mom!!" from Garrett and a beautifully written note from Philip. What more could ANY MOM ask for??
I love that Garrett held my hand as we were walking out of church today -- those times are getting fewer and farther between. Thanks so much kids and Philip for the most wonderful day of the year!!!!

Lucky, lucky you! I'm glad you had a great day!
And I really like that tablecloth =)
It was a great day! Thanks for the "talk time". I love you always and forever!
You are a great mother and it shows by how much your children appreciate and love you. As for Philip, He IS the man! I have some awesome brothers-thanks in great part because of our parents. But, also because they have great spouses that bring out the best in them too!
You have a wonderful family and that can be attributed to a kind and loving mother who is willing to go the extra mile with them. Thanks for being you. We couldn't have asked for a better person to be Philip's wife and the mother of his children.
Love you all and always,
Grandpa Bart
