Pure love payment

Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs... since the payment is pure love.
~Mildred B. Vermont

My "reminder" to my family of loving a picnic with the family on Mother's Day worked!!! We have a picnic basket, salads, french bread, cream soda -- yummy stuff -- all waiting to be taken to the park with some VERY excited kids. Sounds like a great time right?

Well --- this morning I woke up with an awful stomach ache. I was laying on my bed feeling horrible when the kids came in to see if the picnic was still on. I had to tell them that I didn't know because I felt so bad. So Garrett in his infinite wisdom says "What if we pray for you?" I told him I'd already said a prayer and I'd love it if he said one too. He promptly gathered his brother and sister and headed into their bedroom to pray. Lucky for me they left the door open.:) I over heard the following:

Garrett: Okay guys, now kneel down, fold your arms and close your eyes...(pause)..I said close your eyes. Now I'm going to pray. (says a prayer that I will get better and have a great Mother's Day) Now Gavin, it's your turn...make sure you say it with faith!

Gavin: (says a prayer that I will get better and have a Happy Mother's Day)

Garrett: Now Libbie it's your turn. You usually dink off during the prayer so make SURE you pray with FAITH!:)

Libbie: (says a prayer of similar content--- and I believe it was with lots of faith)

I, of course, was in my bedroom with tears of happiness in my eyes. It turns out -- they do listen!
Faith got us through -- off to the park we went.:)

Happy Mother's Day to all of my Mom's, Sister's, Aunt's, Cousins, Grandma's and friends. You deserve the best --- ENJOY!!

Those are the experiences that keep you going...they do listen even when it sometimes feels like they aren't. Thanks for sharing that experience. Glad to see you were feeling a bit better today. Must have been that extrodinary Faith!
