The kids at the Rainforest Cafe at MGM

The Lions were sleeping on the glass tunnel you can walk through -- this was above my head.

But then they woke up - beautiful creatures. 

We have a lot on our summer "to do/see" list as far as field trips in this new area.  I had great plans for  this "free" field trip.  The kids all earned free kids meals at the Rainforest and the Lion Habitat is free.  Plus, we'd heard they just had cubs -- how great is that?!  SO - we headed out and here's the list of things that didn't go QUITE so right:

1.  Gavin was running a fever so we had to leave him home.
2.  Rainforest only accepted 1 certificate per table (we had to ask to see a Manager to get them to use a second for The Calendine family Sheesh!) remember everything on the strip is over priced anyway -- so I paid $10 for the other kids meal (grilled cheese:))
3.  No Lion Cubs that day!
4.  Made a bad choice to self -park -- should have used valet.  It is about a mile through that hotel.:)
5.  Made another bad choice to wear a dress -- Garrett was highly embarrassed until he used logic.   He finally decided it was okay for me to embarass myself because I was an adult and adults "don't care what other adults wear"  But he assured me that if it was him - he wouldn't have any friends any more for wearing "church clothes during the week" :)  (It was a sundress!:))

Most of our field trips have been great - this one, we learned some things that we could do different next time - if there is a next time.:)
