1st annual family reunion

Last year as I drove home from Paige and Marty's wedding in early June, I realized that us Ranney kids live all over the nation and we are seldom able to all get together at the same time. The Holidays are tough due to in-laws and distance. Summer is tough due to vacation schedules. I decided we needed to have an annual reunion in early June before Summer really gets underway. So - much to my unbelief -- I followed through and it actually came to pass!

We had our first "Ranney kids" reunion on June 10-11 this year.  It was a huge success.  Will wasn't able to come due to a new promotion at work  -- but we're holding him to next year!:)  Everyone else was able to come.  Mom, Clint, Kenna and Elle came from Colorado.  Paige and Marty came from Montana.  Dad came from Arizona.  All welcomed the warm Nevada weather as it's been raining across the country this spring.

Grandpa brought a bunch of his change and gave the grandkids a rewarding math lesson.  If they could count it they could keep it.
Free money makes for very happy grandkids.

Kenna was earning her money the good old fashioned way.  I needed some ironing done for my camera straps.

Friday afternoon Paige & Marty arrived just in time for our yummy lunch!

Of course we had to have pool time -- here are Mimi and Elle.

The evening ended with a wii "Just Dance II" party.  I think this is my favorite picture.  Kenna was seriously rocking out (of course, that was after she told us she "couldn't dance"

Garrett beat the pants off Papa Sweet -- but he put up a good fight.

I beat my Mom - yeah boy!

Libbie took down Marty to an awesome Jackson 5 tune.

Garrett acted like he didn't care about the tournament but he beat everyone who crossed his path, including sweet Elle.

In the end it came down to Garret and Kenna.  We had to call it a draw because one of the remotes ran out of batteries 1/2 way through the song.:)  They were both great and they were neck and neck right up to the end!

Love it! It looks like you had a blast. I know from experience that family reunions only happen when we get it done ourselves so congrats!

(and yes, I'm still alive!;])

Las Vegas has a reputation for some pretty intersting parties. It looks like your reunion turned out well and everybody had a great time.

Papa Sweet and I had a really great time...it was well worth the drive! Next year we need to do it in Tennessee (if Will's still there) so he will be in attendance! Thank you Megan for doing all the work. Of course you know if we do it in TN you still have to do all the work (well, I guess I could help a little:)
