he's alive

This morning Philip was fortunate enough to have been involved in the Inaugural "Jump for Scouting" in Las Vegas.   Several city and community Leaders did the jump.  All of them pledged at least $855 to go towards Scoutreach here in Las Vegas.  You can read more about it here and here and even here.  Oh and you can watch video of a jumper and some of Philip HERE -- Philip is at the end of it...

Philip and Jeff Shaw,CEO of Southwest Gas and our Las Vegas Area Council President(also a USU Alum!.)  He is looking forward to a great 3rd and final year as President with the new Scout Executive, Director of Field Service and Director of Support Service (Philip's position)

Where did they jump from  you ask?  From the TOP of the Stratosphere!  Yes, 855 feet up.  The kids and I headed over to watch Dad this morning --

-he was a bit apprehensive before he jumped -- now he just wants to do it again.  Way to go Philip!
If I had jumped -- this may have been my t-shirt.:)

Holy crap! Were you on pins and needles? I know they're all tied in and everything, but still! I'd have been a nervous wreck. I can't help but think that this is one of the reasons the young men love Phil so much- he's a big kid himself!

I thought I recognized a familar smell in the air. The wind was blowing from the southwest. I reminds me of when you were a babe in arms/diapers. Glad you didin't go splat.

Love you all and always,

Grandpa Bart

I hope Megan had a change of undies
for you. I would have been screaming all the way, they would
have thought there was a sonic boom
in the sky. I hope that brought in
a lot of money for the Scouts. Jason said they are going to see
you during the spring break, they
are going to do some baptisms in the Temple in Las Vegas while they
are there. Isn't that a great picture of JT with his baptisms of
those young men from Uganda!!!
Can't you just feel the spirit of
the Lord spreading all around.

Love to you all,
Grandma Iris
