I really enjoy my state, town and neighbors....really. That said, you know you're raising your kids in "Utaw" when they say....
Gavin: Mom how do you spell goin?
Me: G-O-I-N-G
Gavin: NO, like "I'm goin swimmin."
Me: G-O-I-N-G
Gavin: Huh?
Me: It's supposed to be pronounced "going"
Gavin: Ooooh!

Ha! I hope my kids always live in Utah, then they'll always sound right. (Goin swimmin in La-on.)
LOL! I never knew there was such thing as a Utah/Idaho accent until I started dating a guy from the East coast and he always gave me a hard time about it...still does.
I love Utah too, but really miss the dialect of my home state - Texas. Guess I can't complain too much about pronunciation though!
ah.... there is nothing wrong with a Utah drawl, now when they start talking like their Aunt Rene, you should worry ;)...
Utah....born and raised and have a Rich County drawl to prove it!
