Ode to the neighborhood

I recognize that I have a need to have sidewalks in my neighborhood. I really wouldn't mind if we lived in the middle of nowhere, as long as there was a subdivision so I could have neighbors -- and sidewalks.

I LOVE our neighbors!! I love that when I am out shoveling I can meet my neighbor Candace in the middle on our sidewalk. I love that when I am out mowing the lawn and it won't start my neighbor Dave will come over to start it for me. I love that when I am out doing anything and it goes wrong, my neighbor Cortney can come fix anything. I love that when I smile and wave, as the official neighborhood greeter, people smile and wave back. I love that I can sit on my porch during spring, summer and fall evenings and people, whether driving or walking, will stop to chat. I LOVE a good chat.:) I love that my neighbor Elliot snowblowed(proper word for that?) our whole sidewalks and driveway the other day. I love that our kids can walk across the street or around the corner to play with friends. I love that Brittany is nice enough to come over and play with the kids...decorating cookies, jumping on the tramp, playing video games - you name it, she's done it! I love that I can call Rob for any electrical stuff(and many other things!)and he's here at the drop of a hat to help. I love that Kim's cakes are just a block away.

Utah sends a different spin in LDS wards. Here our ward falls within three different subdivisions. When I speak of my neighborhood and my ward I am speaking of two different groups of people, but the overlap is high (probably 35% of our neighborhood is our ward) soooo, ode to the Sun Hills Ward as well. I LOVE our ward. We are a group that has come together to help each other in any area and at any time. I am happy to say I've struggled with some different personalities and through those struggles I've come to love those people even more. I'm grateful for Ward callings that allow you to get to know your ward family better. I'm grateful for the love and friendship that comes from actively participating in a ward family.
Oh how I LOVE people. Getting to know them, who they are and where they came from. Getting to know their ambitions in life is so inspiring. I love hearing their ideas for parenting, careers, home life, etc....then using them in my life.

Thanks friends!!! Hope you all have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
See you next Spring on my porch!;)

Ok, whatever it is you're taking - I need some! It's nice to have those moments when you understand the phrase "my cup runneth over".

It's great to have good neighbors, especially when you're trying to raise a family. I can guarantee you, Philip would not have been what he is had it not been for good neighbors, teachers, coaches, and friends. Even more important than having good neighbors is being one. You all sound happy and we hope it will ever be so. Merry Christmas.
