(He really wanted to be blurred on the video because he was going soooo fast..I love that kid!)
He did it!!! Garrett is riding a bike, excited about it, and trying to go farther everyday.
I have been trying to help Garrett learn to ride a bike since Philip's last summer at camp.(3 summers) He has always wanted to go ride with the other kids but it's been hard for him. We've both been frustrated as we watch neighbors, cousins, friends and even his brother learn to ride with not much success for him. Finally, he learned how at the end of last year but then anxiety got the best of him and he decided the risks were too high. The beginning of this year we bought him a cool new bike, cool new helmet and still the bike riding days (maybe 3 this summer) were grueling. Well....it's here, the day we have all been waiting for. Just before the snow fly's -- Garrett is excited to ride his bike. Even the neighbors are excited. The last three times we've gone out(in just one week!) he has asked to go ride his bike.
Our streets have lots of thorns in them because we live by the sheep and horse fields -- so it's off to the bike shop tomorrow to buy the thorn proof tubes! I've never been happier to fix a bike!
GREAT JOB GARRETT!!

Garrett rocks!
He'll be winning races in no time at all. Now if only I can get Emily to let go of the training wheels we'll be in business
That's awsome! So much freedom with a bike.
WTG! I think determination can take you further than skill. That's too bad about the flat tire though.
Proud of you Garrett! You are doing awesome!
GO GARRETT GO!! So happy to be able to see the video of you riding your bike. I wonder if you'll be able to do it in the snow when we come visit?? (smiley face). I love you whether you can ride a bike or not, but I know you'll have lots of fun doing it. Remember I told you that I didn't learn until i was 10? You beat me!
Great job Garrett you rock!! you'll probably be going faster than me pretty soon...keep going and don't let that snow get in the way!
Way to go Garrett!
I remember biking always giving me a sense of great freedom. I loved to ride as a kid and still do love it when I can find the time.
We are so excited for Garrett!!
You almost feel the freedom for them! Especially when it has been a rough go. Bike riding is the best!
YEAH!!!
Way to go Garrett. You beat me by about fifteen years. Keep riding, it's good exercise and lots of fun.
