Digging great big holes

"Digging holes, digging holes, digging great big holes"

This line from a Scout skit (If I weren't a Scouter...) is what I thought of when I saw Garrett and other kids under the trampoline yesterday digging away. They called them their burrows. Garrett said "Everyone look at my Den -- AND that doesn't mean I like Cub Scouts!" Then when he came inside (after dark because he couldn't break away from digging) he said "The angels are probably singing Holy-luia." That boy can make us all laugh!!
***EDIT *** First thing they did this morning -- digging holes.:)

Sounds like one of my brothers who always wanted to dig big holes. When asked why he was doing it it replied, "so I can fill it back up again tomorrow." If it's a challenge it can't be all bad.
Garrett is so imaginative.

Has he read the book or saw the movie "Holes"? He might actually really enjoy it. My kids loved the book and had look forward to the movie when it came out.

Those are some dang big holes. Maybe he's trying to dig to China to be in the olympic- maybe hole digging should be a sport. If they have speed walking, there should definately be hole digging.

We asked him if he was digging to China -- he said "no, I'd die in the earth's core" :)

How fun! I have to admit that I love it when my kids do projects like this-you know the one's that keep them busy, out of trouble, and active. Too bad you don''t need some trees planted or something-although then I guess it wouldn't be nearly as fun! :) I love the Holy-luja! LOL!
