We knew it wasn't going to be pretty up there -- or was it? It turned out to be blue skies whenwe got to Camp Bartlett on Friday evening. I was THRILLED.
I got my tent set up(or I should say, Philip and the kids did) and went to work. I was there for a Wood Badge Staff Development overnighter and Philip needed to be there on Saturday for a Family Camp walk-through.
I got to sleep alone...no kids....no one else around....quiet --- the only catch was it was in a tent and I forgot my pillow!:( Besides the kink in my neck and the fact that mummy bags and I don't agree ( I seem to think I'm a ballerina at night) I slept just fine. I knew if something really went wrong Papa Bart was there -- somewhere!
Thank heavens I have lived at camp a lot -- cuz getting up early for a bowl of cold cereal and watered down hot chocolate, listening to 11 year old boys talk about their fecal problems in the middle of the night didn't seem to phase me. Ah, the memories!
Saturday didn't turn out so nice -- cold, cold, cold. Oh well -- I bundled up in my lovely scout uniform, a couple of shirts, sweatshirt and a jacket and I was .....still cold.:) I was glad when Philip got there so I could snuggle up to him -- or could I?? Not a chance, he was out walking the camp discussing this and that -- I should have known. :)
A special THANKS to Grandma Iris for tending the kids all day --- they are all corn dog, Popsicle and chicken nuggeted up! They wanna come back REEEEAAAAL soon. We stopped by to see your new home, it looks like a great place!
On the way home we stopped at LaBeaus and I had a sad realization. I had forgotten to take a picture of me and MY tent. Sooooo, here's the one of me at the sweet shop. LOL.
The canyon was lovely -- had to document. (I know I should be happy for the moisture -- but it's JUNE ?!?!?)
I'm super tired right now -- maybe I didn't sleep as well as I thought?!?!?

ok so I forgot to answer one of your questions the other day...yes I use Photoshop CS3 and use actions on my photos...it's so much fun...have you been to the Pioneer womans site (there a link from my blog under sites I stalk) she has a photography section that pretty good for learning little bits here and there...here's my email sally@crosbie.net.au if you get photoshop then I can email you some free actions I've collected - I'm pretty sure I still have the zip files.
THANKS! I've been to her site, but never checked out the photography part -- I'll go check.:)
well, even though you only got one good day of weather, you were out in the woods without kids for one night...that sounds good! Happy that you get to do these things honey...thanks for your encouragement on our move.
So are you going to be up at Camp Barlett for the Summer again, or was it just this past weekend? Don't you love 11 year old boys...lol! The things they find funny and gross. And I agree, mummy bags are not fun - I have to move at night.
not for the summer, just one week this year.:)PHEW!
