TTA - Mom's Post

It's right around the corner. Mother's Day!! The day I look forward to my gift of bringing a picnic(that I didn't make) to the park and watching my kids and husband play ball, fly kites, run around -- while I sit and relax!!! I love family time, I love good weather, I love relaxing, and we all know I love eating.:) So, it's a picture perfect scene for me......c'mon Sunday!!!

Things I never did before I became a Mom:
  • changed two babies simultaneously(for years:))
  • told someone to "hold on for a minute" 100 times each phone conversation to talk to my child
  • became rescue 911 for our 4 flights of stairs (in early walking years)
  • worried, worried and worried some more!
  • spent all day, all week, okay, all of a lifetime -- thinking about someone else besides me.:)
  • wiped off cute faces with my own spit(this is my favorite while we're in church)
  • flossed teeth assembly line style with them laying face up on my lap(really weird I know -- but seems to be the most effective way)
  • cleaned up potty training messes (yes, both kinds) for a LONG LONG while.
  • listened to a child ramble and ramble and ramble about Pokemon, yugioh, e-robots, Mario and whatever else is on the brain that day.
  • studied autism so intensely
  • asked millions of questions of other experienced Mom's -- "HOW do you do this??
Why I love being a Mom:

  • three beautiful and fun children that love me and I love them
  • seeing Gavin wink at me and give me the thumbs up sign when he sees me across a room
  • Garrett's remarkable memory and wonderfully refreshing comments
  • Libbie's beautiful eyes -- to my dismay and her detriment -- she gets away with too much, but she is REALLY cute.:)

I know that being a Mom to these three cute kiddos is my job -- and no one else's. I have an opportunity to get to know each of them better, enjoy their different personalities, and help them to be respectful, loving and contributing adults later in life. I couldn't ask for a tougher commitment or a bigger compensation.

I think being a mom is great!!! I love the things my kids come up with and say. And, don't you think it is an only girl thing that lets them get away with things? I know in Madi's case it is, because I at times I think either she did not do it, or my boys had to have done it. The name of the restaurant is Burrito Grande - it is very good, the salsa is delicious.

I wish every kid in the whole world had a mom who cares as much as you do. The world would be a much better place.

Happy Mother's Day! I have to reminding myself about all of the good things about being a mom because sometimes I forget...But everyday you get those "shining moments of joy" that makes it all worth it. Today it was when Caleb would say "my friend" at the end of every sentence. ("It's time to take me to school my friend")

Happy early Mothers Day! I too hav edone so many things I never thought I would. I wish you could read Stacy's because she did a similar post that was so funny. here are a few of my favorite that I too can say I've done....
8) At 7:05 I might say to my child, "It's almost 8:00, it's time to get ready for bed." Thank heavens he can't tell time yet.
9) Turn several pages at the same time of a really long book
10) Change a diaper on the hood or trunk of my car
11) Sleep in the crib with my child until they fall asleep

Being Mom is the best! You are a great Mom! I hope you have a great MOther's Day! If I don't talk to you before then, Kick back, realx and enjoy!
