day of service

In October our ward did a "Day of Service" at our elementary school.  It was such a great morning for all of us. We were working side by side with our friends old and young and I loved every minute of it.  Even when we found the pregnant black widows hiding under the cactus....yikes!!!  Desert landscape is funny.  It doesn't look like there is a lot to be done, but once you get going there is a ton.  One thing we all learned is that CCSD should really plant "non- prickly" trees on school campuses...those things hurt when they scratch you!

It looks like I'm carrying nothing -- because I am...we could only grab a few at a time because they had so many thorns.  We all compared scratches the next day at church.:)

Reaching into the pokey trees

We filled this trailer twice overflowing and that was just the front of the school

A good project for a good school by some very good people. My mom told me to wear a long shlleved shirt when I did those kinds of projects and I didn't even know what any kind of shorts were. There are some advantages to being old.

Love you all forever,

Bart
