August catch up

Gavin and Libbie had a lemonade stand this summer.  Thanks to some great neighbors, they did pretty well.  They decided to spend their earnings on a couple of races at Pole Position.

Waiting for the races....ah, the anticipation!

Suiting up.  I thought they looked like bobble head dolls..but they were not amused with me.  Libbie is wearing a long sleeved shirt for safety reasons as per her brothers advice.

I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the actual stand but here is the end result as we loaded it back into the car.  They made their own cookies from scratch and lemonade...good old country time.  Nice work guys!

I finally, almost two years later, finished the family tree kit that my good friend Darcy gave me when we left Layton.  It is now framed and on our wall.  I love it...thanks Darcy!

Our good friends the Zanewskis.  We love these guys! We got to go see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with them this summer.  It was a beautiful grassy outdoor setting with the redrocks in the background.  Such a fun night.

Cute family!

This was all I could get of Dylan and Garrett -- 7th grade doesn't always permit for good photos.

Cute friends at a skating rink this summer.  I think both girls had sore bums after roller skating...but had a good time. Their brothers were off beating the odds at "The Claw" game.  They took home 7 toys -- you know the game that you tell your kids never to play?  Yeah, they played it...and won.:)

The week before school got out. Philip and I had a chance to attend the BSA National Conference in Pheonix.  It was a great week to re-connect.  This was the view from our balcony.  Not great I know -- but it was beautiful.  There were several lightning shows that week.  I love Phoenix in August - the monsoon season is refreshing and beautiful!
The closing banquet had some great props -- he looks good in red white and blue, right? :)  Thanks for a good week Philip!
