Our church suggests that we try to read our scriptures together daily. We try- we are even pretty darn good at it. The beginning of the year we decided pretty good is not where we want to be. We want to do better. SO- we came up with a plan. We made charts, bought stickers(shiny gold ones with temples on them) and came up with rewards. We have to read everyday. If we miss we have to start over. After 30 days we get a family activity, after 60 days we get to tour Hoover dam, after 90 days each child gets their own excursion with dad. Libbie: phantom, Gavin: pole position, Garrett: shooting range, mom: time alone:)
We hit our 30 days on jan 30 but just barely got our reward. Steak n shake for lunch, Bowling and the tale end of an equestrian show at SouthPoint.
Maybe one day we will have the perfect intrinsic motivation but for now-Yeah for external motivation!

neduFiyeah, pretty much going to steal your extrinsic motivation, except we might not go to the Hoover Dam, we've been here a bit too long, I suppose.
apparently Blogger is now typing my attempts to prove I'm not a robot on the front of my comment. weird!
Good plan, I know when we were
there you read the scriptures in
the morning before school and we
were really impressed how the
children read their verses. Keep
up the good work.
Love to all, Grandma Iris
You are a good example to us! Good luck with your goals.
