Libbie's 8!

Philip and I met Libbie at school for lunch on her big day.  Of course, this post is late, she is now 8 and six weeks.:)  She requested her favorite, Panda Express and then we brought Krispy Kreme Donuts for the class.
That night, again at her request, we had roast and potatoes for dinner.  Of course, she ate off the red plate and we all said something we liked about Libbie.  I think I liked Gavin's the best.  He said that he likes that they get to walk home from school together and talk about their day.  He said if he's had a bad day Libbie always tries to cheer him up.
Finally (in Libbie's words) we got to the Cake and gifts.  We love our Libbie!  She brings such a special spirit to our home.  I'm pretty sure her Daddy would be lost without her.  He loves a good snuggle with all his kids -- but especially Libbie.
This is an invite that Libbie made for the family for her birthday party.  It says:

You are invited to celebrate Libbie's birthday.  From 3:05 to 6:00.  After that a cake and ice cream party to 7:00.  Then presents.  Thank you.

At 8, Libbie gets to get Baptized (more on that later) and also attend Activity Days (a program in our church where the girls get to meet together twice a month for an activity)  She is thrilled!!

It's hard to believe how fas the kids are growing up. You will be empty nesters before you know it. Dang! That's when the real concerns start. You still love them and are concerned about their welfare, but you no longer have much control over the situations. Teach them well while they are young and when they are older they will not depart far from it. Or at least we hope that's the case.

Love you all and always,

Grandpa Bart
