more family fun

San Diego - day two -- we only had a few hours before we had to drive back home so we made the most of it!

we headed to the beach --

I love the beach scene -- of course I love watching the ocean...but I love watching people too.  It seems that the crowd at a beach is always happy.  A theme park, not so much, but at the beach they are smiling and happy -- there is way too much skin hanging out of way too small clothing and people are happy as clams.  I love it!!

We wanted to see some seals so we went to a beach in La Jolla called "Children's beach"

We decided this guy looked like Pixie (same coloring and mask around their eyes)

It was fun to watch them swim - they would go right by the snorkelers

The kids and I sat here for a while watching before we decided to swim.  We also walked up on the walkway (above) the waves were so rough that day they would crash up on the walkway.  Fun!

Libbie was in heaven with her Tinkerbell bucket

Yeah - he's tough!

but Dad's tougher!:)

This was a fun beach because you could play on the sand and still watch the waves crash into the rocks.

The boys had a great time playing in the waves

more wave fun

Question of the week:  Which decade would you choose?  Philip and I had a tough time deciding which chair to buy.  Mine was only $5.50 and his was a whopping $11.  We didn't want to spring for the 2011 version that were $40 each.:)

After the beach we headed to the San Diego LDS Temple

Very beautiful place!

I kindof think these guys are just as beautiful!
A great place to finish off a great weekend.

I'm glad you could get away for a day or two and enjoy the beautiful beach and the crashing waves. They fascinate me as well, but then so does just about everything else. Glad you made it home safely,

Love you all and always,

Grandpa Bart

Looks like you had a great time! I love the ocean and waves too. Cute pictures, the one of the kids looking at the ocean is a framer!

See you soon!
