Soccer Season has begun -- along with many other seasons...

One of the things we love about Henderson is the city's "passion" for outdoor living.  We have several large parks, bike trails, hiking trails, outdoor amphitheatre -- you name it, we got it.  Above is a picture of the view we had during Gavin's last soccer practice.  When we got there (at about 4:15) there didn't seem to be too many teams practicing.  Gavin went down to practice and the other kids and I headed to the playground area.  A bit later I looked down and there were a SEA of kids playing soccer.  This is just one of the parks for one hour of the week -- that they practice at, not to mention the schools that are utilized for other leagues.  Now THAT's a lot of volunteers.:)

Apparently around here you can play whatever sport you want year round...so we are trying to get our seasons figured out.  This season we goofed and signed Gavin up for Soccer and Major Little League Baseball at the same time.  Yeah, the baseball...it's serious stuff, try-outs, a draft -- the full nine-yards.  How old is Gavin you ask??  NINE!

(here's the banner I was coerced got to make for his League Parade.)

Moving on ...So for Spring, Libbie is in Soccer for her first time. She is excited and anxious all at the same time.  Her first game is tomorrow.   She also heads to running club now and again.

Gavin is in both soccer and baseball, along with a neighborhood book club and running club.

Garrett is busy getting all the Merit Badges he can.  So far he has Carpentry, Path finding, Signalling and Tracking (all 2010 Historical Merit Badges that he got in Layton before we left)  Since we've been here he's received, Leather work and Textiles.  Over the next couple of months almost every weekend he has classes including Swimming,  Emergency Preparation, First Aid, Personal Management and Personal Fitness.  Tonight he's headed to the first of 2 Rock Climbing MB Classes.  He also starts private guitar lessons in a few weeks.  We're thinking of starting a monthly late night/book club for his age friends -- we'll see how much energy I have.

Love you ll and always,
