Kudos to the Cubs

Tonight we got to work on a bit of Cub Scouting as a family. Garrett needed to finish a few of his art projects since he missed Scouts last week and we needed to review the section titled How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide.
I am very grateful to the Scouting Program and other programs, including a group that came to the kids school last week to talk to the kids about the forms of abuse and how to deal with them. The people in this world can be pretty awful and we need to protect our children. As much as we want to, we don't always know how. I know that I, for one, need a good book to have "the talk" with my kids when they are eight(you know the BIG talk...birds & the bees?) It just seems a guide is always helpful for stuff like that.
SO, if you've forgotten to tell your children about abuse, don't feel comfortable talking to them about it, told them several years ago and need to review it. Go for it! Your children need you!

If you need a good book -- see the link above. That's all we did -- Log on and discuss it openly. It is one of the most important 30-60 minutes you'll spend in your life.

That is a very good resource for parents and anyone involved with kids. It is important that the kids know what's out there. Hopefully, they can just go on and live their live the way the way they'd like, and not have worry about it, but's always best to be prepared.
