swirling thoughts

I've been in a blog rut I guess. I keep thinking that I should sit down and write, for history and for family that is far away, but then I think "what would I write?"

So since the brain can't focus on just one thing -- here's what's going on...

...Libbie is coming home today from her 10 day stint at Grandma's in Colorado

...she sat them down (Mimi and Papa Sweet) and told them that it was way too hard to remember all of her Grandma and Grandpa's names, so she was just going to call them all Grandma and Grandpa. Mom said she was happy to hear such an independent and mature statement.:)

...she has swam, weeded, planted and played while away -- I know she's had a good time, and I know she's ready to come home. It's been all the boys can talk about for a few days (including Philip)

...the boys only have 4 more days of school left. Yeah or Boo? I'm not sure. I'm excited to have them home but I'm not ready with my summer schedule yet. Chores and schoolwork and swimming and gym and friends and hikes and cub scouts and?? Yikes, how do I fit it all in? I've got 4 days to figure it out.

...the boys still have 4 more baseball games. Gag! Oh, I mean, yeah -- that will be SO MUCH FUN!:) I really do love watching them, it's just the time commitment. I hear it only gets worse... I mean, better.

...The inside of our home REALLY needs to be patched and painted. I REALLY don't want to do it. The doors and trim are reeeeally needing a fix. Too bad I had it bid and it's $1800 for all I want done.

...the garage door broke last night. Yeah, it really broke. I'm thankful to Greg who came over this AM to help Philip get the van out. I couldn't dirty my new white pants you know.

...I have had more time to clean my house lately, with Libbie gone, but it's still not as clean as it should be and no big projects have been touched. interesting.

...I am headed back down today to volunteer at the BSA, LDS Relations office for Philmont preparation.

...boys are dirty, stinky creatures. Really, they are. And amazingly enough, they don't care!!

...Philip is leaving us and Libbie is gonna be mad when she finds out it's tomorrow.

...Garrett is being a normal third grade boy and being rude to neighborhood kids. Man!, how come parenting can't just be easy??

...Gavin lied this morning -- I think he believed it himself.

...I'm amazed my Mom is texting me so much --- she's turning high tech!

...we are an amazingly blessed family. We have so much to be grateful for...and I am!

...oh yeah -- the SUN is out!!!

Bummer about the garage door! The joy of home ownership. Apply for a stimulus...you need it. :)

Hope you have fun with Libbie back today.

You crack me up. Yes, the sports commitment gets worse as they get older but can we talk about the smell? The smell gets WAY worse. Have fun with that. And was it $1800 to paint the doors and frames or $1800 to replace or fix them. Because I may know a guy ...

OK, I am really sad we never had Libbie over. I was such a lame-o too when I saw Kenna. I hope she knows I was under the weather! I promise next time everyone comes to Colorado I will do SO much better!!!! Boys do smell. ;)

Jenn, it was $1800 to have my main walls painted, plus my bedroom and all adjoining doors and trim painted. They need to be replaced, but this was just to paint them.

Libbie, what a big girl to be able to be with Grandma for 10 days.

For posterity's sake I just have to add how much I loved having Libbie for awhile. We haven't really had a chance to get to know each other very well...but now we have:)! I see some of Kenna in here (when Kenna was a little girl) some of you Megan and alot of herself! She is so intelligent, loving and independent. I know she missed her family and especially her mom, but I think she might want to come back next year:)! Love you, Libbie!
