Live United!

This weekend we got to go to Wolf Creek to spend Conference Weekend together. Our friends, The Stones, went with us. They're our "backdoor neighbors", guess we can't get enough of them;)
Live United, we decided this we a good theme for the weekend. Many of the LDS General Conference talks were focused on kindness, being better people, helping others, sharing the gospel and many more things that would help us all to live united. Not to mention Elder Ballard, I think it was, that talked about posting a nice comment on blogs as a way of being nice to others. Hey, I think I can handle that counsel. ;)
Have you seen the commercials for United Way? Philip thought he would re-enact for you, just in case.
Like Father, like son -- watching General Conference in the "quiet room."
I had so much fun playing tether ball with Garrett I had to take some pictures. Of course, he didn't stop playing while I took the photos, so he had some great victories!
Gavin wanted to get in on the action too. The height factor gave Garrett just the edge he needed. The kids singing primary songs to us. They started this all on their own. Pretty darn cute!

Our last breakfast -- Philip made yummy pancakes. It was also Gavin's birthday so we made sure to sing to him, while he had 7 candles in his pancake.:)
On the way back home we stopped to go on a small hike. No, our family wasn't dressed for the occasion. I, in my state of denial that winter is coming, did not bring tennis shoes or a sweatshirt. Gavin didn't have a sweatshirt so he wore Dad's flannel and Libbie wore Garrett's sweatshirt. I'd say we looked like a bunch of hmmm, unique individuals? Or maybe just bums? Don't get me wrong Stones, you guys looked great. :) Fashion never stopped us before. Candace and I had wet hair when we left the condo -- so we led the fashion parade. Now she's cute!
and cuter!

Philip always has an eye for a good photo.

We have a great family -- united! Fashion conscious or not. :)

It looks like you guys had a lot of fun! But I do have to say that bedspread in the quiet room was kind of scary.
