Cabo San Lucas

There are no words to describe what we experienced in Mexico. The ocean was breathtaking. We watched whales everyday that we were there. There were gray whales that had come in close to shore to deliver their babies. The babies have only a few seconds to come up for air after they are born, so they stay in the shallow water. We went wave running one day and got to see a whale up close -- of course, Philip was the closest(about 50? feet) and the rest of us were close enough.:)

Philip and I got to parasail, something we never thought we would experience. It was so great, we highly recommend it. We were up about 350 feet in the air -- crazy!!

We also snorkeled(thus the quiz on my blog right now.) I'm not a fan I guess, but Philp sure loves it -- what do you think?

Our accomodations were out of this world! It was an house(or villa) on the beach. Marble floors, 12 foot? doors, beautifully furnished,2 large living areas, 3 bedrooms with baths as big as the bedroom:), hot tub, pool, beach view, golf course view, etc etc. AMAZING!:)

One of the highlights for me was the fact that I got to place a Book of Mormon with a man named Gustavo. Our friend David started a discussion about the LDS church with him(he was our waiter a few of the days at the restaurant we walked down the beach to for breakfast) and we all continued the conversation as the days went on. Come to find out he has been to church, has spoken to the missionaries, etc. We didn't find this out until he received El Libro de Mormon but he was so excited about it he kept coming over to talk to us about it. It was a great experience for us all. Of course there was a language barrier but we worked through it. :) He is in the picture below with us -- "we are family" as Gustavo would say.

This truly was a chance of a lifetime trip for us. Some friends of ours invited us and offered to pay for the whole trip -- we only purchased our souvenirs.

We were not only THRILLED to go -- but excited to have learned a few things about friendship, fun, and money. We felt very humbled to have been asked to go -- we didn't know quite how to feel or what to say or do. Usually when someone gives you something in this world they expect something in return. I think subconsciously we all believe others will expect something in return if we take something from them. This was NOT the case with our friends. They are amazing people that are always going on Humanitarian trips, always trying to use their monetary blessings to help others not only to have better living conditions but to enjoy life a bit more.

Philip and I both returned home recommitted to helping others as much as we can with what we have now and whatever we may have in the future. A lesson I hope we can all remember.

We are grateful for both the fun and amazing trip -- but moreso, for our lessons we learned about how to enjoy each other, enjoy life, and enjoy the ability to give to others.

MUCHAS GRACIAS!

How fun!! I'm so glad you were able to go an experience that. Was it fun to be without your kiddos or did you miss them. We sure miss being your friends- not that we aren't friends but being seeing you often. Hope you're all well. Looks like you've got the hang of this blog thing. Yours looks awesome.

Okay, that sounds fun and lookds fun. Away from the cold weather...I will take that any day. What great friends you have. Did you get the guys address that you gave the Book of Mormon to so that you can keep in touch with him? I like your blog background by the way...I can see why blogging can be addicting.
