January at the Henderson Eborns

Libbie had the opportunity to help the Elders teach her friend Kaymin Sommer the Missionary DIscussions for a few months.  Kaymin chose Jan 18, 2014 to be baptized.  What a great set of Elders these young men were.  Elder Fuller and Elder Pesci.  They taught us all a lot about obedience, faith and friendship.

Both Elders were being transferred because we were getting Sister Missionaries in our Inspirada Ward.  Garrett had been wanting to play basketball with them for a long time.  The morning of their transfer they sacrificed and got up super early to come up to our courts and play with our boys.  Again, they are amazing young men.  We will always remember them fondly.

During these months of teaching the gospel, Libbie's testimony grew and grew.  She went from a little girl who struggled with knowing if the church was true to drawing this in church one day.  I am proud of her personal growth during this time.

What a blessing to be able to stay in Henderson long enough to watch Kaymin get baptized.  She is an amazing young woman who will touch many hearts I'm sure.  We are blessed to know her.

Libbie is our creative girl.  She won 2 first place awards at Reflections this year.  Of course, I forgot to get photos of her actual submissions.  One was for a creative story and the other was for her photograph.  The theme this year was "Dream, Believe, Inspire"  She never ceases to amaze us with her creativity.

Philip moved to Pueblo, Co on January 15th.  We had lots of photos going back and forth like this one.  Which happens to be our home we are living in now.  We are lucky to have a Dad who is a good home chooser:) and especially lucky to have technology that we could see most all he was doing.

Philip had an article written about him as the new Scout Executive in the local paper, The Chieftan.  He received a wonderful welcome from the community.

Meanwhile, we were documenting our lasts in Henderson.  I stayed behind with the kids so that they could finish up their basketball seasons.  This is Mason Fonnesbeck, Garretts good friend and basketball teammate.

These boys have spent hours and hours on this court.  I'm so glad they have each other.

Garrett also received his "Life Scout Rank" at a court of honor. We are very proud of him and I should say I'm just as proud if not more that he is still happy to give me a hug in public.  Nice work Garrett!

Philip flew back a few weekends to be with us.  On his last visit we headed to see Ka, our only Cirque show we saw in Vegas.  What a wonderful time to spend together and a final hurrah in Las Vegas.
