These are just some of our miscellaneous Summer Happenings.....
|
Earlier in the summer, when it wasn't too crazy hot yet, we headed to the splash pad with Eliza Collins. The girls had fun playing wtih Tyson Barlow who was already there...We miss Eliza -- she moved to Utah the middle of June. Boo!

I know all temples are beautiful and honestly, I never thought the Las Vegas Temple was so beautiful...until now. Maybe it's the peace it brings you when you go inside that makes the outside that much more beautiful? Besides, there's just something about a palm tree and a temple, right?:)

Libbie and I headed to the Palazzo one day this summer. I needed to get a paper signed from our Bishop and his firm was working on a case there -- we enjoyed the lobby area while waiting for him. These casinos really are beautiful inside...no, not the same beautiful as the temple..but fun to look at for sure!

Aunt Paige, Uncle Marty, Baby Jillian and Baby? -- taking off on their new adventure. Since this photo, the shop has been a great success. Zomies and doughnuts, who knew? It's been fun to watch this endeavour via facebook. Keep the posts coming guys!

With the large amounts of LDS Missionaries entering the mission field, the dynamic of the Las Vegas Mission has changed. The largest change that affected our ward is that we have officially received our OWN set of missionaries. This has been so fun! We can actually get to know them better and feel a bit more connected to them. This is a picture of Elder Shorter and Elder Marcee (Left to right) Elder Shorter is from Washington DC, he is 26 and a convert (probably the 5th missionary we've had that's been a convert) He lived a rough life before joining the church and is a great example of a truly converted member. Elder Marcee is from Gary, Indiana(yep, you know the song) and was just a great influence on us all. Theses Elders are Assistants to the President (another change is that we now have 2 sets of Assistants in the mission) so the downside is that we send them all home. What a joy it's been to see and be a part of such a great work!

We also had a fun Swim/BBQ at our house with several members of our ward. I (Megan) have a great opportunity to get to know all of the new members of the ward (and they are many - about 30 new families since January) anyway, it can be tough to meet new people -- so we had several over and had a fabulous evening. I wish we could do it more often.
