Ranney Reunion - Colorado

Kenna and Armondo's darling home in Ignacio, Colorado.
We headed to the Annual June Ranney Reunion the day after school got out this year.  Due to the distance we had to drive Philip couldn't come with us this year...his job is such a bitter sweet thing.  Mostly sweet -- only bitter when it doesn't work with into the whole families plans.:)  We were very sad to have to go without him but we are getting good at family trips in the summer with the four of us...so onward we went.

I can't remember the name of this yummy Mexican Restaurant in Bayfield but it was one of Dad's favorites so the first night we got there - we headed to dinner.  Yum!

On the way home I took the kids down this road "County Road 509" where both sets of my grandparents used to live.  I spent a lot of summers here when I was younger.  Good memories.

I also took them by my Grandmpa Jack's gravesite.  It's always good to give the kids a little family history lesson.

The next day we headed out on a pontoon boat.  What a fun time for all of us!  We barbequed lunch, fished and just hung out.

Enjoying the Colorado sunshine!

Grandpa fishing.

We felt sad that Mimi and Papa Sweet couldn't come.  They were working at the lake that day but couldn't go out on the boat.  They were even the ones who rented the boat for us! Thanks for your selfless act guys so we could go have fun!  Glad we got to stop by your place of employment while we were there.  I have to admit, this photo doesn't make it look like your were really working too hard.:)

The kids have learned to love to go to the teeny town of Ignacio in Colorado.  Aunt Kenna lives just around the corner from a Seven to Eleven (no, not 7-11) gas station that sells huge soft serve ice cream cones for cheap.  So, every night we head over there for some good old family time at the gas station.  This time we realized we always hang out under the "no loitering" sign.  Whoops!:)

I didn't get very many pictures this trip but here is the best one I have of Paiges family represented.  Elle, Mimi, Jillian and Libbie.  A happy Grandma with her granddaughters!

This was at a rest stop on the way home.  The kids didn't even know what a rest stop was. After that comment I told them we are doing Route 66 next summer and stopping at all the rest stops.  After 10 hours in the car with me and my LDS Church CD's that didn't go over very well.  But hey, it just might happen!:)
