Pre-Disney Fun

We scrambled all day Friday to get ready to head out but it seemed it wasn't in the cards. Philip got stuck in some awful traffic coming down from Mt Charleston, as fast as I was getting things done, more tasks kept popping up. So by 5:30 we called it and decides to leave the next morning. Not wanting to dirty the kitchen before we left- we headed to Balboa pizza for dinner.

We decided that if we couldn't get to the beach- we would bring the beach to us!:)

By Sunday morning we were rested and ready for church. Too bad when we arrived at 9 am they told us it was Stake Conference from 10-12. We had others waiting on us- so we sadly decided it was a good try and headed home. The kids did get to see a gates church parking lot and a really old church design- it was just like my first church in Livermore... The "Mocho Building" They liked the design.

That afternoon we headed to a local swap meet. It was just down the street so we walked. This is Garrett and Christian- it I fun to have a new cousin to hang out with.

The kids loved walking under the overpass on the "crooked sidewalk"

And a friendly game of pool ball never hurt anyone:)

Monday we headed to Newport Beach. Gavin and grandpa share a love of corn dogs- Jane did some great business with us there!

We do love the sea and sand!

Freezing water never stops kids!

Grandpa and his girls!

Gavin took this of us--- I love being able to reconnect with my kids when I am away from the everyday "tasks".
And tomorrow--- off to Disney!!

I am glad you get to get away. I agree, life gets SOOO busy, we just need to get away and be with each other without the tasks and duties off home. Family Time! Have fun!

You are having a lot of fun with different grand_-
parents in Cal. Next time we go to Cal. I want to
go to Sea World, maybe I can convince your Dad
to go. Have lots of fun.

I love that you got to go on a fun vacation! I enjoyed your Insta pics! We hadn't taken a formal 'vacation' for years and when we finally went in January, I remembered why they are so great for families. It's nice not to have the tasks of everyday life and just enjoy being together sometimes. :)
