Wallin Honor Choir and guests

Gavin has been a member of the Wallin Elementary Honor Choir for the past two years.  He is learning a lot about music through this experience.  Obviously from this photo, he still keeps his awesome personality.:)  Recently Gavin was asked by his Choir Director to be a part of the Orff Festival here in Las Vegas. He was 1 of 8 who were chosen from our school.   From what I understand about this performance it is a few children from each school and they practice on their own for a few months before.  They finally come together about a week before the performance (250 singers) at UNLV and perform beautifully.  They have the choir and instrument work as well, hopefully he will be able to do a little of both.

At the Christmas Concert both of our kids got to play instruments as well.  I missed getting a photo of Gavin playing drums, but here is Libbie and her friend Caitlyn getting ready for their big performance.

Couldn't be more proud.:)  The 3rd graders were invited to perform with the Choir (only 4th and 5th graders who try out) and some of them got to play instruments as well.  It was a great night!!

Focusing on his instrument playing.

This is that personality I was talking about

Gavin's choir this year.  It was so big she split it into two choirs.  70 in each choir.  Makes my heart happy that so many kids still choose to sing in choir!
