Las Vegas Area Council Annual Banquet

So I'm not sure what it was called exactly -- but it was basically what I know to be an Annual Board Meeting without the Board Meeting and added in awards.  I'm calling it an awards night.

In this council they have their Board Meetings in the morning before work (6:30 AM?)  which I personally appreciate because that gives Philip more time at night with his family.   They had their annual Board Meeting a few weeks ago in the morning and last nights banquet included the Scouting Heroism Award (those always make me cry) and the Silver Beaver Awards.

There were 2 Scouting Heroism Awards to be given out and 21 Silver Beaver Awards.  I was told there were about 400 in attendance, up about 100 from last year.   I missed getting a picture of the professional photos of each Silver Beaver Recipient.  This council has a professional photographer who takes their picture, in whatever setting they choose (ie: one was a surgeon so he was in his operating room with his Silver Beaver award around his neck) and then he gives them the 11x14 beautiful photo.  I thought it was great.  And the pictures looked great lining the foyer before you walked into the banquet room.
The banquet was at Sam's Town. They had a nice reception in the lobby (atrium area) for the Silver Beaver Recipients prior to the dinner.  Plus, they squeezed in and Executive Committee Meeting around then too....5:30-6:30? then Reception at 6:30 -- and dinner around 7?  I don't know the times for sure, but man I thought it was great.  I'm all for efficiency.  This year Philip had a lot to do with this event as they just hired(promoted) an activities director (same as TTC, Program Director - Philip's job a few years ago)  But next year he will not be so involved.
I'm not sure if you can tell but that diamond shaped sign is a sign that has the Las Vegas Area Council Logo on it and it had flashing lights all around it.  The room looked pretty cool when you walked in.  The owner of Yesco (sign company) made that sign for them a few years ago.  Very "las vegas" :)

Good job to Philip  & the Las Vegas Area Council -- it was a well planned evening.  Even with ALL That went on -- it was over at 8:30!

Looks like fun! This is totally random- but I just wanted you to know that I think of you every time I empty the dishwasher (and that's pretty often). I will be forever hooked on the lemon stuff... my dishes look SO GOOD! Thanks.
