Payday

Payday's for Mom's seem to be few and far between....but I've had 2 rather large paydays in the last week.

Last Sunday Garrett stayed home from church. He had gotten a spider bite on his face at Camp Bartlett and it swelled up like a nice big, hard, hot golf ball. We gave him some Benadryl and had him sleep. We came home to check on him and it wasn't much smaller, so we had our local Dr. look at it (we had to wait until he was done teaching Sunday School:)) He was sure he'd be fine, but suggested we head to the store to get some different medicine. A bit later I decided to go get the medicine and Garrett asked where I was going. I told him and he said "No, you can't go, it's Sunday." I told him I knew but it was okay because he really needed the medicine. Garrett said "Mom, God's power is much stronger than any medicine you are going to get. It is Sunday and if you really need to get the medicine you can go tomorrow morning." Needless to say, I did not go get the meds and the boy is fine.:)

Then today Gavin was sick. He's been feeling yucky for a while and I think he just needed to sleep so I told him to get back in bed and stay there for the time we were at church. During Relief Society one of the Primary Counselors came in to tell me that Gavin had decided he felt better, got himself ready and walked to church (what a blessing to live so close!) He asked the counselor if she'd tell me so that I wouldn't forget him at church.

These two events along with the fact that our boys are running to open doors for us and others make me smile from ear to ear!

I LOVE my Mom payday...and it's MUCH better than any paycheck I'll ever get!

cute story. How cool you live that close to church. My kid could never do that- have to get on the freeway and it would take them the 3 hour block time to walk there. So cute that Garrett had that much faith his spider bite would go away. Have a picture of that one? Hope you are having a good summer.

What a good example they are to all of us. Those kinds of pay days cannot be replaced by the other kind. Keep on teaching by love and example.

Love you all and always,

Grandp Bart

Keep telling these stories...I need the inspiration. And it is the very best kind of payday for sure! Not to mention the fact that they are my grandchildren so of course they are exceptional:)!

We can learn so muchfrom our children, we learn whatwe have taught them and what we need to
teach them. In this case you have
taught them correct principles and
they remembered. Love their hearts.

Love, Grandma Iris
