Some of you wanted to see Lou Hou's hair after the rag curls. This, my friends, is the curliest her hair has ever been. We've tried hot rollers, curling iron, mousse, two tons of hairspray and none of it holds. These pictures are at 6 PM and I took the rags out this morning at about 8:15 AM. Yeah, that one in the back middle didn't hold all day, but it was great this morning.

How to: Cut up cotton fabric, pillow case, t-shirt, etc. into strips...maybe 2 x 6? Make sure the hair is damp, put strip of fabric at the end of the hair segment, roll up and tie in a knot(I don't double them) Easy as pie!
I am so excited about last nights plan I have to share:
This year we attend church at 9 AM. We are not really morning people...okay, not at all! So, after Libbie's shower last night I did her hair in the "spider web" that you see and then rolled the rags on the bottom half. This morning she woke up, unrolled the rags, and off we went. I did have to pull the two ponies (usually I end the spider web in two 1/2 ponies) into 1, because we only had one purple bow.
Man, hair can be difficult. I am trying harder to focus on her hair. Over Christmas break I saw a photo of her in her Kinder class and man oh man did she look like an orphan...I always think she's beautiful no matter what, and she is...but I'd better stay focused so she doesn't yell at me when she's older.:)

I am going to try this in Mckennas hair tomorrow night. Her hair NEVER holds a curl. Thanks for posting it.
Super cute! How would you like to get 4 girls hair done and your own too before church. I'm so glad we have 11:00 church this year (last year was 1:00). Luckily, Ava has very little hair to do right now. I know that I'm blessed for wearing pink sponge curlers my whole life because I have 2 girls with naturally curly hair and one that has curls in the bottom. We've yet to see what Ava's will be. I'll have to try that rag thing on Alyssa, he hair much less curly. But, she's too young to wear rags to bed- no way she would keep them in.

Very cute! And be so glad she will let you! I have one VERY stubborn 7-year-old darling who insists on doing things herself. We have had many battles and many orphan days! My mom used to do the same thing with all 4 of us older girls...I remember watching 8 is enough and love boat while she rolled our hair on Saturday nights--although we had the scratchy old lady rollers--yuck! But I know it made Sundays much easier! Yeah for curly hair! :)
Love the curls. I also love stealing ideas from the hair blogs. Have you been there? babesinhairland.blogspot.com one of my favorites!! It is nice too, because my girls can see what the hair styles look like, and choose what they want. You should look if you haven't...
This is true (about the not yelling when she gets older). I still get comments on hair problems from (probably all you) but particularly Paige and the crooked bangs:(....I always thought you were all beautiful too:)! BTW...Libbie's hair looks BEE-UTIFUL!
