happy heart

~Today, in Sacrament Meeting (the meeting in our LDS Church where we partake of the sacrament) both of our boys were singing the hymns. I love the hymns.

~Tonight, Garrett took part in a basketball game, first time I've ever seen him play basketball with a group of kids.

~Tonight, Gavin came down to make his lunch all by himself, without being asked. He even made his brothers lunch.

~Today, I felt happy to be at church.

~Today all three kids played together. Happily. For a long time.

~Today, I heard that a few of the Laurels from Girls Camp has to write essay's on a life changing subject -- they chose their experience this past summer at Girls Camp.

~Tonight, we watched a segment on a boy who is autistic and had to have an invasive surgery. I realized how blessed Garrett is.

~Today, Gavin held the door open for me at church.

~This morning, Libbie & Gavin snuck into my bed this morning to snuggle me.

My heart is happy.

Such a good thing to look for the simple things that make us happy. I think unhappy people don't see the small stuff.
(Oh, girls camp! You did such a good job!)

When we have happy hearts what's left at the end of the day doesn't seem to matter nearly as much. We are all so blessed, and we get to choose whether we are going to be happy or not each day. "Come what may and love it." That's who Elder Wirthlin put it. Good advice for us all. You're great . Keep on keeping on.
