Garrett woke up this morning and came running in our room yelling "It's my birthday!!" He has been very excited about it all day long. We have told our kids that on the years that we give them a "friend party" that their present from us is just that, a friend party. This year I "splurged" and made(well, helped Michelle make) each of the kids an apron too.:)
This morning Garrett opened his apron, which I thought he would really dislike, but to my pleasant surprise he LOVED it. After school we went to Michelle's to quilt and he asked why we weren't bringing his apron. Then for dinner he asked if we could make homemade pizza so he could wear his apron. It's the little things that make them happy.

Happy Birthday, Garrett! It's hard to believe you are nine years old all ready. Just think of all the smiles people have had because of you. You are great. Even tho I told you Happy Birthday yesterday Garrett, I have to add my comment to your special post for your NINTH BIRTHDAY! I still remember the day you came home from the hospital with your mom and dad. I drove up from Colorado and came in the door to find your mom sitting on the couch holding you. You were so tiny and beautiful. You held on to my finger right away and I was overwhelmed with love for you...I still am! I hope you had a GREAT day and that your friend party this Saturday is GREAT too!
