Flyin' by the seat of our pants

I had an idea!
(doesn't happen often, so we had to go with it)
Candace, Ethan and Clara(our best backdoor neighbors/friends !!!) humored me and came along. We decided to take Frontrunner to Salt Lake and go to Gateway. Everything fell into place for a great evening -- from the train coming only 5 minutes after we got to the station(even though we didn't check a schedule and had never ridden Frontrunner) to getting home without a ticket. We purchased one -- it just got lost in the fun!:)

Enjoying the Gateway Fountains. Apparently there is a free Jazz Concert every Thursday evening in June and July. The kids played while we listened to Jazz. Perfect mix.
Catching each drop

Not my personal favorite -- but at least it shows I was there.

I admire Libbie for her determination. She was gonna pick up Clara if it killed her!

See guys, he DOES love me!:)

The best smile ever! Ethan and Garrett have a lot in common -- including not smiling for the camera. Love these boys!

Hmmm? Don't know what's up here -- but she's cute. Beautiful Candace and Ethan(the pirate or the flirt?)

They DO Love their Dad! Philip had a meeting in SLC, so he had someone drop him off and he rode home with us.
It doesn't matter how hard you try to get a group picture -- sometimes it's just not in the cards. Waiting, climbing, and thinking -- he's a multi-tasker.
Garrett is showing these boys a special skill -- kissing your muscles? With a large group -- seating is limited -- watch out Dave! Candace, he's checking you out in the window!!:) Honestly, this guy was great -- he finally got up and left because we were so loud! It was late, we had five little kids -- and we honestly didn't care. I will care tomorrow.
LOVE this boy!

Like father, like son!

We got home late, woke everyone up on the train -- and ENJOYED every minute of it!!! Sometimes spontaneous is the way to go!

You are getting it figured out. It's alright to plan, and make those "to do" lists, I'm sure, but sometimes I find it more fun and even more productive in the eternal scheme of things to just "go about doing good." Call it flying by the seat of your pants if you will. It allows for
serendipodous inspiration instead of self-imposed regimentation, although that tends to drive some people nuts.

We are coming for a visit in a couple weeks and one of things i'm looking forward to is going to the Gateway! It's funny the things you miss from home. Also funny how things change - what the crap is Frontrunner? At first I thought it was a nickname for a car but it sounds like it's a new trax?

Great pix of a great day...so glad you have friends to play with! And so glad you share it all. When can we plan to have Garrett come down? Let me know. Maybe it'd work to have Gavin and Libbie come for a week also...we could drop off and pick up in Moab once a week?? Again, let me know.

Mom, yes, we're willing to bring Garrett down -- just pick a date. except not the end of July or beginning of August.:)

It is so nice to take Frontrunner to Salt Lake - let someone else do the driving. Looks like you had a blast and the kids stayed cool in the water! Great pictures by the way - I love the picture of the water droplets and Libbie. Very cute.
