Great Ward/Primary Activity

Each year our ward has a Neighborhood 5K Fun Run/1 mile walk & Bishop's Breakfast, followed by a Primary Activity. We invite the whole neighborhood and always have a great time!
It falls right around Pioneer Day so this year we had it last Saturday. I took a few pictures and then gave my camera to a Primary Teacher -- within an hour she took 250 shots!:) She got some great ones -- but here are a few to outline the event (mostly of our kids, of course!)
The boys on the 1 mile walk -- Xander, Garrett, Traveler and Gavin. You can bet that there was a lot of pokemon, star wars, and battle talk going on right here.
We don't get a whole bunch of people out for the run/walk since 7 AM comes early on Saturday. But I enjoyed the walk with the kids and Philip ran.

Right after the run/walk and waiting for breakfast set up to happen. Apparently I was too busy eating and chatting to take pictures at breakfast. It was a great turn out.

The Primary Activity had 3 stations. The first was ice blocking -- these hills do come in handy sometimes. I never got to see the action but I heard LOTS of laughing. I'm pretty sure it was a hit!

We also had a huge blow up water slide for the kids. Of course they loved this one!!

Finally they got to wash the each of the Bishopric's cars. Look at those kids scrub the camp bugs off Philip's car! LOL We always have to do service right? I don't think they even knew it was service because they had so much fun.:)
We rotated through those stations with 3 different groups and then..... Any activity isn't complete without sugar!! We had shaved ice for them at the end. Our kids were in HEAVEN.:)

I really do LOVE our ward. We have some great people to work with and get to know better. It's so nice to have neighborhood functions -- where ALL are welcome. That's my kind of party!!:)

As a side note --

As I was looking through these 250 pictures -- I noticed that every picture Libbie was in -- so was Kendra. As much as I'm not in love with the whole BFF thing -- I'm pretty sure they are as close as you get to BFF's when you're 4. TOO CUTE!:)

What a fun activity! I'm jealous of your ward and neighborhood! So much fun packed into one day, and it looks like the kids had a blast!

Looks like you had a fun day! I am thinking that those kids should start a business washing cars. LOL

well Becky -- I'm a bit envious of your dad's garden plot myself.:) BUT we are looking at putting in a HUGE garden (about 4 x 4 LOL) next year...so I can rid the envy!:) and Rene -- I was SHOCKED at how well Philip's car looked. I'm not sure how the dark blue Chevy Tahoe looked later --hee hee-- but we did our best.:)

It looks like a great activity! What a blessing to be in a good ward where your kids can find good friends. That is huge! Great idea to wash the bishopric's cars-I gotta remember that one. :) I love seeing what you Utah Mormons come up with! heehee
