Filmographic memory

1 week ago -- as we were watching Kung Fu Panda, Master OoGuay made a statement that was very profound for a turtle. I thought 'I'm going to try to remember that.' 1.5 minutes later it was gone. No memory of the quote whatsoever. I still wondered what it was -- but didn't think about it much.

Fast forward to now --Garrett was reciting a portion of the quote -

I said "Isn't that from Kung Fu Panda?"

Garrett: "Yes"

Me: "What did the turtle say?"

Garrett: "Yesterday is over. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift and that's why it's called 'present.'

I realize that's not that tough of a quote to remember but I couldn't remember it. AND Garrett probably doesn't have reason (or motivation) to remember it. He just has an AMAZING memory!! Not necessarily photographic -- more filmographic (he remembers a reel instead of a single shot:))

I had to dig through the archives for this one -- he's looking at the camera, smiling and handsome as ever!:)

His favorite web site, as of late, is Wikipedia -- he reads all about video game characters, their characteristics, their strengths, & their weaknesses. He is an added bonus for his friends -- he knows the ins and outs of all the games.:)

Granted Philip can remember every baseball statistic from the beginning of time -- but I still don't think he compares to Garrett in the memory department.

We just saw that movie with my kid's karate class. I was very impressed by the movie. Of coarse Jack Black is hilarious and I loved the message of the movie. Too bad I also won't remember any of the good lines!

Thanks Bart -- he needed to hear that --- he's been asking me all week what HIS talents are and how can he be "normal" and like the other boys. WOW -- I LOVE parenting.:) Playing with Mason yesterday was great for him -- thank heavens for good cousins.:)

It's interesting to read that about Garrett. Hunter has the same ability. We are very blessed to have these boys!
